Beach Dike Construction Awaits Amdal Document

Head of Jakarta Regional Planning and Development Agency (Bappeda), Tuty Kusumawati asserted, the construction of river dike phase A of National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) and beach dike is still waiting for amdal document.

The fund is for river dike construction in Kamal Muara (west flow), Adem River (middle flow) and Blencong River (east flow)

The construction itself involves Jakarta Provincial Government, Ciliwung-Cisadane Flood Control Office (BBWSCC), Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) and State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN).

"As stated by BBWSCC to Jakarta Bapped on January 29 2016, the dike as long as 90 kilometers is divided into segments," she told, Wednesday (6/8).

Dike is Needed to Save Jakarta

For NCICD phase A, Jakarta government's obligation is to elevate and strengthen the dike as long as 8 kilometers. To build the dike, they only prepare Rp 377 million this year.

"The fund is for river dike construction in Kamal Muara (west flow), Adem River (middle flow) and Blencong River (east flow)," she explained.

Tuty ensured, both dikes can be built if the amdal document from Jakarta Regional Environmental Supervision Agency (BPLHD) to BBWSCC is returned again to Jakarta BPLHD.

Amdal was been evaluated including mitigation related with fishermen and buildings. Regarding fishermen life, mitigation will be conducted by KPKP dept and building mitigation by Water Management Dept.

"We still await reparation from BBWSCC," she finished.
